Titus Schleyer, DMD, PhD
With 20 years of experience in information
technology, Titus is one of S3's principal consultants for strategic planning,
technology evaluation and complex Internet/software projects. He is also
responsible for business development and legal affairs. As chairman of the
Department of Dental Informatics at Temple University in Philadelphia, he
built a national and international reputation in the emerging field of dental
informatics. Today, Titus is Associate Professor and Director of the Center
for Dental Informatics, University of Pittsburgh, and Visiting Professor
in the Department of Information Science and Telecommunications at the University
of Pittsburgh. Titus is one of three recipients of a training grant for
dental informatics from the NLM/NIDCR. He is also Associate Editor for Informatics
and Technology with the Journal of the American Dental Association, and
reviews informatics-related manuscripts for many other journals. Titus holds
DMD and PhD degrees from the University of Frankfurt, Germany, and an MBA
degree in Health Administration from Temple University. He has co-authored
the Global Village of Dentistry, published
extensively, and lectures frequently at national and international meetings.
