The search engine includes an indexing mechanism (crawler). The purpose of the crawler is to walk through your Web site, to grab all the documents and to store meta-data about those documents in an SQL database. After every document is referenced by its corresponding URL and meta-data, the search is performed via custom Web interface. We usually develop all custom user interfaces in PHP, a scripting language for Web sites.
