S3 Web Technologies scores in Nielsen Norman Group usability study

Talk about a good eye for design. www.gutsehen.de, the Website of a German eye clinic developed by S3 Web Technologies, recently scored high marks for usability in a Nielsen Norman Group study. The study tested 46 different Flash animations (=animated applications on the Web) in the U.S., Germany and Japan.

The study examined how easy it was for users to work with Web-based Flash animations. Flash animations can make Web content more interactive, and thus have the potential to provide information or functions in a more interesting, effective and fun way. One of the problems is that most users use most Flash animations only once in their lives. Thus, intuitive design and ease-of-use is paramount.
